❗️🌟 Can you help us? 🌟❗️
Our school is working to enhance our outdoor playtime provision, and we’re hoping to make use of items that local people, companies or businesses might be getting rid of.
If you have any of the following that you no longer need, we would be incredibly grateful to give them a new home and repurpose them for creative, active and imaginative outdoor play:
🤸 PE/gymnastics mats
🛞 Tyres
🪣 Buckets
🌧️ Plastic guttering/pipe
⛺️Tarpaulin
🪵 Wooden cable reels
🪢 Lengths of rope
If you can help - or know someone who might - please get in touch by emailing the office at admin.flimby@fli.changinglives.education or speak to Mrs Dawson. Please feel free to share!

We recently visited Flimby Primary School after seeing their online call for support to help improve their playground facilities.
The school is hoping to make their outdoor space more inspiring for pupils by adding a couple of timber sandpits and a small wooden stage for imaginative play and performances. As the playground is currently hard-surfaced, these additions could make a real difference to the outdoor learning and play opportunities available to both KS1 and KS2 children.
A member of our team went along to take a look at the space and learn more about the school’s ideas. We’re now exploring how best to support them in bringing their plans to life.
Supporting schools and young people is an important part of our social value work. Last year our team also worked with Montreal Church of England Primary School, helping to build a raised timber sandpit and a wellington boot store as part of their outdoor play and learning programme.
It’s always great to see schools creating spaces where children can explore, imagine and learn through play – and we’ll share updates if this project progresses.

Y3&4 visited Flimby Church this morning as part of their RE lesson. They learnt about why people baptise their children/themselves and helped our governor, Ann, to baptise Sophia the doll using the font, holy water and the Paschal candle. Thank you to Ann for having us at church!

📢 Calling Local Businesses & Volunteers! 🌟
Our school is hoping to add two wooden sandpits and a small wooden stage to our playgrounds to make playtime even more fun, creative and exciting for our children.
If you're a local business, tradesperson, or volunteer with woodworking skills — or if you know someone who might be able to help — we’d love to hear from you! Materials or time donations would be hugely appreciated, and they would make a big difference to our pupils’ outdoor learning and play.
Please message or call the office if you can help or would like more information.
Thank you so much for supporting our school community!
Please feel free to share!

Y3&4 have had a fantastic day at Low Beckside Farm today! This morning, they got to experience life as a sheep farmer, helping to lay fresh bedding for the sheep, making sure they were well fed with hay and setting up some lambing pens for the farm’s newest arrivals! In the afternoon, the children learnt about different types of wool and how to clean and care for it, and found out all the different products that farmers actually help to make. Although it was a little soggy, everyone had a brilliant time! Thank you to The Ernest Cook Trust for having us!

Year 5 & 6 had a wonderful day at Low Beckside Farm as part of our work towards the Cumbrian Award. We became sheep‑care specialists for the day, enjoyed a walk and exploration of the farm and took part in the Wonders of Wool workshop. It was an amazing day, with some of the children saying they would love to become farmers when they are older and hope to return to Low Beckside for an apprenticeship.
